<p>The radiator is for an automotive IC engine. It has a set of tubes between two water tanks, and cooling fins on the tubes, parallel to each other and extending in the travel direction. Some at least of the fins (11) have flaps (12) at the forward ends (11a), seen in the travel direction, and held by spring action in an initial position slightly inclined to the planes of the fins. The flaps hinge on the ribs under the effect of the wind pressure on them, so as to partially block off the radiator at high wind velocities.</p> |
