POLYPROPYLENE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having opaque appearance and light-shielding property without lowering mechanical properties, etc., and capable of giving a film suitable as a general packaging material, etc., by compounding a polypropylene with a specific amount of a copolymer resin of cyclopentadienes and an aromatic hydrocarbon and/or a hydrogenated product of said copolymer resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a crystalline polypropylene with (B) 3-40 pts.wt. (preferably 5-25 pts.wt.) of a copolymer resin of cyclopentadienes and an aromatic hydrocarbon and/or a hydrogenated product of said copolymer resin having a softening point of 160-250 deg.C, preferably a hydrogenated copolymer resin having a softening point of 165-200 deg.C and giving an ultraviolet absorption spectrum having a peak absorbance of 0.01-0.5 at 265-276mum wavelength.
