Heating head having a naked (active) flame. The head includes a body 2, a support 4, a torch 6 and a connecting member 8 providing the mobility of the support 4 and the torch 6. The torch can occupy at least one working position in which the flame performs a welding operation and a rest position in which the flame is shielded. The head furthermore includes a shield 40 which conceals the flame when passing between the rest and working positions. Application to welding robots. <IMAGE>
