PURPOSE:To provide a low temperature expandable ceramics suppressed in the pyrolysis thereof and useful for heat exchangers, engine parts, etc., by forming a structural composition comprising an aluminum titanate-magnesium titanate solid solution as a crystal phase and yttrium titanate. CONSTITUTION:A low thermally expandable ceramics having a thermal expansion coefficient of <=0.2% at 1000 deg.C and having excellent stability at high temperatures has a chemical composition comprising 35.0-50.0wt.% of Al2O3, 45.0-55.0wt.% of TiO2, 2.9-6.0wt.% of MgO and 1.8-5.0wt.% of Y2O3 and is a structural composition comprising an aluminum titanate-magnesium titanate solid solution as a crystal phase and yttrium titanate. |
