PURPOSE:To uniformize the density of a molding and to remarkably shorten the molding time by a method wherein friction material, in which organic matrix is used, is molded by pressing with a hydraulic press in such a manner that pressing is repeated while slight vibration is superposed upon it. CONSTITUTION:A crude molding is charged in a molding lower mold 5 and processed by means of a hydraulic cylinder 16 upon a vibratingly pressing pattern B. The pressing pattern consists of the rapid lowering of a molding upper mold 6 so as to come into contact or just before contact with the crude molding friction material and its following further slight speed lowering, upon which slight vibrating having the set frequency and amplitude is superposed. The gas developed within the molding is kicked out during the slight vibrating and slight speed lowering process as organic matrix hardens. By effectively repeating the vibratingly pressing pattern several times, the density of the whole molding is uniformized and the processing time can be shortened. |
