PURPOSE:To increase active material utilization and improve contact of the active material with a core metal by using granular lead powder as an active material and filling lead powder having small particle diameter near the core metal and that having a large particle diameter near a tube. CONSTITUTION:A clad type positive plate is formed in such a way that a plurality of core metals 2 are installed in a lead alloy upper part connecting plate 1 and granular lead powder is filled between each core metal 2 and a glass tube 3 as an active material. Fine granular lead powder 6 having a diameter of 0.5mu or less is filled between the core metal 2 and a cylindrical separating wall 4 and rough granular lead powder having a diameter of 0.5-2.0mu is filled between the cylindrical separating wall 4 and the glass tube 3. After filling, the separating wall 4 is removed. Therefore, electrolyte is sufficiently penetrated to the inside of a plate owing to rough lead powder. Thereby, utilization of the active material is increased and the contact of the active material with the core metal 2 is improved to increase battery performance. |
