PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the whole parallel computer system by setting local memories selectively according to >=2 operation modes. CONSTITUTION:The parallel computer has >=2 processor elements 304 and each processor element 304 is equipped with a local memory 302; and a control logic part 303 which sets the local memory 302 in >=2 operation modes selectively and a storage part which prescribes >=2 operation modes are provided. Then switching use is enabled according to mutually reciprocal requests for, e.g. processing wherein emphasis is put on the realization of large amount data transfer in program execution by the parallel computer, efficient processing by the parallel processing of data transfer and data processing, and processing emphasis is put on the high reliability of data processing most. Consequently, the reliability of the whole parallel computer system can be improved. |
