<p>A method of producing syndiotactic polypropylene characterized by washing a polymer produced by polymerizing propylene in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound having unsymmetrical ligands with a hydrocarbon solvent. A syndiotactic polypropylene having further improved properties can be obtained by treating the formed polymer slurry with a mixture of a β-dicarboxy compound and an alcohol or with an alcohol containing hydrogen chloride under a nonaqueous condition to thereby solubilize the residue of the catalyst used in the polymerization in the hydrocarbon solvent before conducting the washing.</p> |
