Sample applicator unit - with absorption openings in application elements separable by interference fit holders

A sample applicator for use in a cataphoretic analysis of serum protein has a row of seperable applicator elements, each with an opening to absorb a sample. One of these individual elements is divided in turn from the rest, held and carried away. A row (12) of separable applicator elements (12a) have an opening (15) for the absorption of a blood serum sample. A number of holders (20) in a case out of many equal to the number of rows) can be lowered to sever each element along the dotted line (13). The lead-in chamber facilitates the engagement of the two with a slight press fit. ADVANTAGE - This transfers a sample of blood serum on a sample carrier of cellulose acetate at low cost and reduces the risk of contamination.
