The chilled food display counter (1) has a cooling system (6) underneath the display shelf (2) connected to the food display area through air conveying passages (9,10). The air conveying passage at the front (10) has a vertical air damper plate (12) along the edge of the display shelf. The cool air flowing from the back (9) forms an air cushion slowly sinking onto the displayed food and cooling it. USE/ADVANTAGE - Chilled food display counter with restricted cool air circulation thus reducing desiccation of food.
