Apparatus for respiratory assistance comprising a tube (4) which forms a main channel (5) and which is to be connected by its distal end (3) to a patient's respiratory tract so that said main channel (5) can link said patient's respiratory system to the outside; said apparatus also includes at least one auxiliary channel (8, 8.1) for the injection of a gas flow to ventilate said said patient which opens into said main channel (5) close to the distal end (7) of the latter. The apparatus is characterised by the fact that at least the distal end of the said auxiliary channel (8, 8.1) which opens into the main channel (5) is parallel to the latter, and by the fact that opposite the distal end (17) of said auxiliary channel (8, 8.1) means (14b) for the deflection of said breathable gas flow for ventilation into the interior of said main channel (5) are provided.
