PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from falling and scattering during the movement and transportation of a developing device by providing a means for collecting a nonmagnetic developer which is not used for developing operation under the opening of a developer supply container. CONSTITUTION:The developer collecting means 32 is provided under the developer supply container 23. This means 32 is formed by bending the lower end of the developer supply container 23, but another member may be provided. The front end is bent at >=90 deg., i.e. acutely. Consequently, the contamination in a machine due to developer scattering during copying machine operation is prevented and the nonmagnetic developer 31 in the developer collecting means 32 neither falls nor scatters when the developing device is slanted. Even if the developer is deposited irreqularly, the developer is blocked by the collecting means 32 and never scatters out of the machine. Thus, the developer is prevented from falling and scattering during the movement and transportation of the developing device.
