PURPOSE: To improve the functional safety of a connector means for an air bag, especially the functional safety of an auxiliary circuit provided therefor by incorporating a delay mechanism into the connector means so as to delay the opening motion thereof between the closed or opened point of a contact element and the closed or opened point of an auxiliary contact element. CONSTITUTION: Housings 2 and 3 are provided with a closing or lock mechanism 5, into which a delay mechanism 6 is incorporated while being held in the swingable housing 3 for delaying the opening motion of the housing 2. When the delay mechanism 6 unlocks a connector means 1, it delays the opening motion thereof between the closed or opened point of a contact part and the closed or opened point of an auxiliary contact part. The delayed opening motion substantially prolongs the duration of auxiliary contact of the auxiliary contact part to thereby permit an auxiliary circuit to check a trigger for an air bag. |
