PURPOSE:To prevent the run-out of a coil by comparing the ratio of the number of revolutions of an unwinding reel to that of an adjoining pinch roll with the ratio of the diam, of pinch roll to the critical residual diam. of coil, and decelerating and stopping the running of strip by detecting the tail end of strip of the unwinding reel. CONSTITUTION:An unwinding reel 10 having diam. D after coiling a strip S and a pinch roll 20 having diam. D2 are arranged at a prescribed distance. A strip S is taken up by a winding reel 40 after passing through a washing machine 30. Further, a control device 50 for reel driving, controls the inputs to the driving motor of both reels 10, 40. Next, a pulse oscillator 10PG is connected to the shaft of reel 10 and generates a pulse P1 at every rotation of the reel 10. Further, a pulse oscillator 20PG is connected directly to the pinch roll 20 and generates a pulse P2 at every rotation of the roll 20. Next, a processing device 60 has a decelerating-point detection part 61 which inputs the pulses P1, P2 and outputs a deceleration command X when the ratio of the number of pulses per unit time between both pulses exceeds a set value 2, and a stopping-point detection part 62 which generates a stoppage command Y when the number of pulses per unit time of the pulse P1 reaches a prescribed value. |
