Analytical apparatus comprises several mobile carriers for carrying reagent packages between successive stages of a multi-stage analytical procedure. The carriers are typically mounted on wheels and motor driven, the motors being provided either on each carrier, or on separate wheeled drive units connectable to respective carriers. The movement of the reagent packages between the successive stages is externally controlled typically by the use of coded infra-red signals. |
