PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance to various melts such as molten metals, molten glass, molten salts, etc. by forming an enamel layer scattered and stuck with fine BN particles on the surface of a metallic member to be used in contact with said melts. CONSTITUTION:Enamel glaze is coated to about 0.1-1.0mm. thickness on the surface of a steel pipe for blowing gaseous Cl into molten Al or metallic parts to be used in contact with molten glass or various molten salts. Fine particles of BN having <=300mum grain size are sprayed to scatter and stick on the surface of the enamel glaze before said glaze dries. The coating is then calcined after the glaze is dried. The corrosion resistance to the melts of low melting metals such as Al, Pb, etc., molten glass and various molten salts is improved and the service life thereof is extended.
