PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the density of a dye image by providing layer contg. a dispersion (polymer latex) mordant of a polymer which contains a specific monomer unit and is crosslinked. CONSTITUTION:A layer consisting of a dispersion (polymer latex) mordant of a polymer which contains the monomer unit expressed by the formula I and is crosslinked is provided on a base. The migration of the polymer mordant to the outside of the mordant layer during storage or treatment is thus suppressed and the decrease in the concn. of the dye and reticulation of the mordant layer with the migration is suppressed. Q in the formula denotes a quaternary nitrogen atom and Z denotes the atom group necessary for forming a nitrogenous heterocyclic ring together with Q. Said nitrogenous heterocyclic ring nucleus contains further >=1 hetero-atom except the quaternary nitrogen atom expressed by Q. R1 denotes a hydrogen atom or methyl group and X<theta> denotes anion.
