<p>PURPOSE: To reduce a device to a required extent and to enable operate a 3480 tape cartridge by housing a loading rack, a loading means, a head, a guide means and the like in a component of 8 inch structure. CONSTITUTION: A tape cartridge 2 is inserted into a transportation section 1 without interfering in an operation feature of a transportation device 20 in an initial state of the tape cartridge 2, when it is in a standby position in which it can be extracted from the transportation section 1, it is received by a loading rack 29. After that, the loading rack 29 is reduced to an operation position at which the gear coupling of a supply reel 16 is fixed to a coupling to a supply motor 18 and a leader block 25 is fixed to a guide pin 33 of a leader block loading/unloading mechanism 35, and the tape cartridge 2 is made possible for operation preparation in the transportation device 20. Thereby, a tape cartridge IBM 3480 being fully compact can be received and operated.</p> |
