PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film head having high accuracy, high sensitivity and a large allowance current, by securing a specific angle theta to the traveling of an opposite medium for the substrate plane of a multielement magnetic head and at the same time specifying the repetitive interval of a magnetic head to a track pitch. CONSTITUTION:A substrate plate 3 forming a multielement magnetic head is set so as to secure an angle theta of inclination (theta<=30) to the traveling direction of a magnetic recording medium (toward an arrow mark). Under such conditons, a head core 1 is formed. The repetitive interval CP of the head 1 is set as CP= TP/sintheta to the track pitch TP of the recording medium, and at the same time almost right angles (80-100 deg.) are secured for the gap of the head 1 to the traveling direction of the mangetic recording medium. In such a way, a multielement magnetic head having a high recording current value, high reproducing sensitivity is obtained in a simple way and with high accuracy although the pitch TP is reduced. |
