PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality polished surface by polishing a metal coated surface with wool buffs and sponge buffs holding compounds of various sizes in sequence. CONSTITUTION:A metal coated surface is water-polished with sandpaper and polished with a wool buff holding a fine compound then polished with a rough sponge buff holding a fine compound. It is then polished with a rough sponge buff which is nearly the same as the above rough sponge buff and holds an extremely fine compound, and it is polished with a fine sponge buff holding an extreme particulate compound. When it is polished in this order, buffing stripes generated in each process are erased in the next process, and excellent luster is obtained on the metal surface. |
