PURPOSE:To reduce jaggy without increasing memory capacity by reading out 1/4 dots positioned adjacently to the top, the bottom, the left and the right of the dot of an address which should be read out originally, selecting one of them and adding it to an original dot. CONSTITUTION:A dot interpolation means is provided, which reads out the 1/4 dots positioned adjacently to the top, the bottom, the left and the right of the dot of the address which should be read out originally besides the dot of the image data of the address, selects one of them and adds it to the original dot. By ORing between dot data outputted from a logical operation circuit 14 and the original dot data outputted from a serial-parallel converter 24 in an OR gate 15, the interpolation of the original image data read out from a RAM 9 is performed and the data is outputted to a superposition circuit 5. Thus, the jaggy is reduced by performing the interpolation of the image data written in the RAM 9 at the time of readout without increasing the memory capacity of the RAM 9. |
