PURPOSE: To obtain the subject liquid containing specific sulfonocarboxylic acid and/or its salt in the form of an aqueous solution having a pH ranging from acidity to about neutrality, and intended to produce highly durable and strong bond to a site to be treated. CONSTITUTION: This liquid is obtained by preparation through keeping a phosphonocarboxylic acid of formula I [R is H, or, as the case may be, an alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl substituted with hydroxyl, carboxyl and/or a group of formula II and/or COOR' (R' is H or an alkyl)] (e.g. phosphonosuccinic acid) and/or its salt at pH1-8. Rectification of the tooth or bony material prior to its coating with a primer or liner by the use of this liquid affords durable bonding of the tooth or bony material to a plastic synthetic material.
