<p>Process for depositing, on the surface of a magnetic disk (DISCI), a lubricating layer (LUBRI) over this disk's silicon oxide protective layer (CPI), characterised in that, after having cleaned the disk, the sequence for coating the surface of the disk is carried out at least once, comprising the following series of operations:
a) with the disk rotating, it is sprinkled, in its direction of rotation, with a lubricating product containing a carrier gas, solvent gases and active oxyhydrocarbon monomeric components which are polymerised and then adsorbed by the protective layer,
b) a solvent is sprayed over the disk, in the direction of rotation,
c) the disk is dried.
