摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the output characteristics of an engine, by preventing drop of acceleration responsiveness due to unnecessary ''fuel cut'' by operating various engine protecting means when the supercharging pressure on the downstream side of a blower and the opening of a throttle valve are both greater than respective set values. CONSTITUTION:In an engine with a supercharger in which a waste gate valve 12 opened and closed in response to the supercharging pressure on the downstream side of a blower 5 is disposed in a by-pass passage 13 by-passing a turbine 6, a pressure sensor 11 for detecting the supercharging pressure and an opening sensor 31 for detecting the opening of throttle valve 10 are disposed at the portion of an intake passage 2 located on the downstream side of the blower 5. Outputs of these sensors 11, 31 are furnished to a control circut 16 together with the outputs of an engine-speed sensor 14 and an air-flow sensor 8. In the control circuit 32, the supercharging pressure is judged to be abnormal only when the supercharging pressure is higher than a maximum supercharging pressure in the high-speed operational range of the engine at which opening of the throttle valve is greater than a set opening. In the above case, operation of a fuel injection valve 9 is stopped and an alarm lamp 15 is lighted.
