INPROVED HALF DUPLEXED MODEM COMMUNICATION METHOD AND ITS COMMUNICATION METHOD

PURPOSE: To improve a transmission rate of valid data between both MODEMs by using the two MODEMs so as to conduct negotiation of communication. CONSTITUTION: A data terminal equipment 11 exchanges data synchronously with a data communication equipment such as g MODEM 12 and the MODEM 12 converts the data into a form proper to transmission to a central station 14 of a telephone company via a telephone line 13. The MODEM 12 measures a time interval between the end of final transmission and a start of current transmission and conducts re-training sequence depending on the elapsed time. A MODEM 21 measures a time interval between the end of final transmission and a start of current transmission and conducts re-training sequence depending on the elapsed time. Similarly, the MODEM 21 conducts adjustable re-training sequence in its transmission state and the MODEM 12 conducts adjustable re-training sequence in its reception state. Thus, the data transmission rate between the two MODEMs 12, 21 is improved.
