PURPOSE:To reduce a time until copying a black-and-white image is started after toner is replenished by resetting a Toner-end simultaneously when a front door is closed after a prescribed time during which the front door is opened for exchanging a developer after the Toner-end is displayed passes when a black developer is used, and resetting the Toner-end after concentration is recovered after the door is once opened and closed when a color developer is used. CONSTITUTION:When the black developer is used, the Toner-end is reset simultaneously when the front door is closed after the prescribed time during which the front door is opened after the Toner-end is displayed passes, and when the color developer is used, the Toner-end is reset after the concentration is recovered after a prescribed time passes after the front door is once opened and closed. A toner concentration sensor 1 is arranged at a position at which the developer smoothly flows between a developing roller 3 and an agitating paddle 2. When toner concentration is lowered and an operator finishes a toner replenishing work according to such toner replenishing indication as the Toner-end or a Near-end, the front door is closed and image formation is restarted. Thus the image formation by the black developer can be started soon after toner is replenished. |
