PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the casing inside of a propulsion unit as an exhaust expansion chamber and, fully secure the capacity of an oil tank by arranging the oil tank within a cowling covering an engine. CONSTITUTION:A lubrication device for a 4 cycle outboard motor is equipped with an oil tank 34 for lubrication oil that lubricates the respective parts of an engine 10, an oil pump 53 that feeds oil under pressure to the respective parts of the engine 10 and at the same time, feeds under pressure oil at an oil receiver to the oil tank 34 and an oil receiver that is arranged at the lower part of the engine 10 and stores oil from a crank case. Also, exhaust from the engine 10 is discharged through an exhaust passage passing through the casings 12, 22 of a propulsion unit. Here, the oil tank 34 is arranged within a cowling 35 covering the engine 10. As a result, the capacity of an expansion chamber 38 which is provided for exhaust from the engine 10 can fully be secured, and the silencing of the sound of exhaust can fully function. |
