PURPOSE: To remove a bias error or to sharply reduce it by providing the energy filter device with an optical waveguide for holding and guiding an electromagnetic wave formed on one surface of a substrate medium and a device for discriminating the radiation energy of an electromagnetic wave radiated from a coupling device arranged in a substrate and the guide energy for guiding the electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION: The energy filter device is provided with an optical waveguide 82 having at least one coupling device for coupling two or more electromagnetic waves to the prescribed number of electromagnetic waves less than the original number of electromagnetic waves on one surface of a substrate medium 80 and capable of holding and guiding an electromagnetic wave formed on one surface of the medium 80 and a discrimination device for discriminating the radiation energy of an electromagnetic wave radiated from the coupling device arranged in the medium 80 and the guide energy of a guided electromagnetic wave. In the constitution, the characteristics, e.g. a polarization rate, of floating energy can be differently modulated and an error component clue to the floating energy is demodulated and removed in the detection circuit through a signal processor. Thereby even when high integration is executed, the generation of a bias error can sharply be suppressed and high accuracy can be attained. |
