PURPOSE:To cool an original platen well by traveling a shielding member abutted with a reflecting mirror unit against energizing force of the energizing member when a carriage is traveled along the whole area of the original platen. CONSTITUTION:When the carriage 50 is traveled along the whole area of the original platen 3, the shielding member 72 to which the reflecting mirror unit 51 is abutted is traveled against the energizing force of the energizing member 73. When the original of an A4 size is copied, the first and the second carriages 50 and 51 are half scanned and the shielding plate 72 is traveled forward in the direction of an arrow a by the energizing force of the coil spring 73, and the space between first carriage 50 and a lens cover 71 is shielded. With this shielding, the air flow between the first carriage 50 and the platen glass 3 is made greater and the platen glass 3 is cooled well. |
