<p>Method for checking the composition of multilayer units composed of sheetlike parts, which in spaced succession are passed along a checkpoint where a value varying with the thickness of the unit passed along is determined. The value determined is compared with a reference value, which corresponds with a desired thickness of the unit passed along, on the basis of which comparison the unit is accepted or rejected. For each unit of a given composition the value varying with the thickness of the unit passed along, which is determined the first time such a unit is passed along the checkpoint, is stored as a reference value and used as such the next time a unit of that particular composition is passed along the checkpoint. The value varying with the thickness is determined per unit by calculation from a measuring result obtained by measuring during a given interval. The beginning or the end of the interval is related to one of the edges of the passing unit. The invention further comprises an apparatus for using the proposed method.</p> |
