PURPOSE: To make it possible to rent a video tape and book an article by providing a computer, a point-of-sales information processing terminal, and an automatic supply processing terminal. CONSTITUTION: Nameplates which can be rented are displayed on a CRT 16 which can be viewed from in front of an automatic terminal 6 at a store. A card reader 18 sends card information of a customer to the computer to request authentication. The customer touches a pressure sensitive screen 17 according to an instruction on the screen 16 to specify a desired description, and the terminal equipment 6 discharges the cassette in response to the authentication by a host computer 2. The whole system software is loaded to the computer 22 through a floppy disk input mechanism 28. An office worker performs the addition and deletion of the automatic supply terminal 6 to the computer 22 by using a bar code 30 and wand 34. The computer 22 places a specific solenoid driving device 40 in operation to release the cassette from a track ring 38. For a return after the store is closed, an office worker performs registration on a POS terminal 4. The automation of returning is removed, so the mechanism of the terminal 6 is simplified to reduce the cost and improve the reliability. |
