PURPOSE:To obtain a battery with good discharge performance by specifying the ratio between the area of a negative electrode faced to a positive electrode and the opening area of a battery inner case faced to the negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:A battery is constituted of a positive electrode mix 4 made of manganese dioxide, a conducting material and a binder, lithium 5 as a negative electrode active material, a separator 6 made of polypropylene, and a battery inner case 8. The ratio S2/S1 between the area S1 of the negative electrode 5 faced to the positive electrode 4 and the opening area S2 of the battery inner case faced to the negative electrode 5 is set to 0.80-1.10. The expansion of the positive electrode 4 generated by the discharge can be effectively applied toward the lithium face (vertical direction), thus the tension in the battery can be kept satisfactory. Good discharge performance can be obtained. |
