PURPOSE:To obtain a nozzle which has little wear and tear and is durable for a long time by kneading both a raw material which consists of graphite, alumina and molten silica as a main component and a binder and molding the mixture and thereafter calcining the molded body in the reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A binder such as phenolic resin is added to a refractory raw material compound consisting of 10-30wt.% graphite, 60-80wt.% alumina, 0-10wt.% molten silica and the balance metallic admixture. This mixture is kneaded and molded and thereafter this molded body is calcined in the reducing atmosphere. Thereby a nozzle for casting stainless steel is obtained which is utilized for introduction into a mold from a tundish. |
