<p>PURPOSE:To trace the optimum position of a track to be reproduced even in the case of a commercial VTR to use a wide head by detecting crosstalk components from an adjoining track and executing a capstan control so that the crosstalk components can be made minimum. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a reproduction with the wide head, the relative positions between rotary heads 4A and 4B and the recording track of a magnetic tape 1 are controlled so that an envelope detecting output voltage Ve can be always fluctuated between the voltage levels of broken lines l1 and l3, and they are controlled so that they can finally be within a range in which the adjoining crosstalk components are made minimum. Namely, the executing the control to an area in which the crosstalk components are small and the level of a reproduced envelope signal is made maximum, a reproducing head is controlled so that it can be always maintained in the optimum trace position. Thus, even at the time of the reproduction with the VTR to use the wide head, the center line of a track width on the recording track can be traced.</p> |
