A rotary slide valve for gaseous or liquid media consists of a divided housing (1) which carries the connections 4, 5 for the inlet and outlet of the controlled medium. In the housing (1), two discs (6, 7) of ceramic material are arranged one above the other, have control channels and are rotatable relative to one another. The discs (6, 7) consist of alumina ceramic with a content of at least 96% by weight of alumina, and a bulk density greater than 3.75 g/cm<3> and a porosity of at least approximately 0%. The discs (6, 7) can also have a compressive strength of preferably 2100 N/mm<2> and a Vickers hardness of 1800-2300 HV 100, and the surface roughness of the discs (6, 7) is, at least in the region of the surfaces resting on one another, Ra < 0.1 at a load fraction tp1 of > 90%. |
