PURPOSE:To speed up processing operation, by using different devices for a device detecting the changing point of encoded line and an encoder, and detecting the next changing point with a changing point detector during execution of encding with the encoder. CONSTITUTION:Compressed data inputted from an input bus IPB is applied to line memories LMM1 and LMM2 via a shift register SR1. When one compression code is confirmed by referring the LMM1 and LMM2, a compression mode is set to a register MDC and a run length is set to counters C1 and C2, the setting of the compression coded information is informed to an encoder CDR to stop the detecting operation of a changing point detecting circuit CPC. The encoder CDR copies a value set to the MDC and the C1 and C2 to corresponding registers NDC, R1 and R2 and starts encoding and operates a register S to start the operation of detection of the next changing point. |
