NEW MATERIAL:6-( 1-Hydroxyethyl )-3-pantetheinyl-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3,2,0] heptane-2-carboxylic acid(antibiotic OA-6129D), its salt and ester. EXAMPLE:Sodium 6-( 1-hydroxyethyl )-3-pantetheinyl-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3,2,0]heptane-2-carboxylate. USE:Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing various kinds of carbapenem type antibiotic substances. Useful as an inhibitor for dehydrodipeptidase and a prodrug for carbapenem type antibiotics. PROCESS:A bacterium capable of producing antibiotic OA-6129, such as spore or hypha of Streptomyces sp. OA-6129(FERM-P 5714) is inoculated into a medium containing a nutrient source and propagated aerobically to give a substance shown by the formula. |
