PURPOSE:To minimize the quantity of heat removed by a lower roller at the time of copying and simply maintain the temperature even if the peripheral temperature and power voltage and low by rotating a heat fixing roller before the lighting of a ready lamp to previously heat the lower roller. CONSTITUTION:A heat fixing roller consists of two upper and lower rollers; the upper roller 1 is a heat roller incorporating a heater 2 in its inside and the lower roller 3 is a press-contacting roller. When a main power source of a copying machine is turned on, a main motor is rotated, the heat roller 1 and the press-contacting roller are also rotated, so that electric power is supplied to the heater 2 of the heat roller 1, the heat roller 1 is heated and the temperature of the press-contacting roller 3 is raised by the heat roller 1. If the surface temperature of the heat roller 1 reaches a setting temperature T1, a ready lamp is turned on, both the rollers are stopped and the heater 2 controls the heat roller 1 so as to maintain its setting temperature T1.
