The solution concerns yet unknown additive compound titanium tetrachloride-magnesium chloride-ethylbenzoate (1:2:5), of formula TiCl4.2MgCl2.5C6H5CO2C2H5 and its synthesis method by reaction of components, waterless magnesium chloride and titanium tetrachloride or in the form of ethylbenzoate solvate with ethylbenzoate, in ethylbenzoate solutions at temperatures of 0 to 60 degrees C, as well as its isolation method by means of crystallization from these solutions. The compound can be used as a precursor or catalyser in organic synthesis, mainly as a component of catalysers for polymerisation of olefins at low pressure.
