Method of preparation of workable poly(ε -caprolactam) with 100 to 300 polymerisation degree via anionic polymerisation by ε -caprolactam initiated bis/2-methoxyethoxy/di/ε -caprolactamo/sodium aluminate and/or by tetra/ε -caprolactamo/sodium aluminate consists of the fact that the polymerisation is executed at temperatures above a melting temperature of the polymer /poly/ε -caprolactam/ in the presence of N-alkyl amides of organic carboxylic acids, where the concentration of this amide ranges from 0.02 to 2.0 moles % and polymerisation runs for a period of 2 to 20 minutes and the subsequent depolymerisation at temperatures below the melting point of poly/ε caprolactam/,it is best at a temperature of 160 to 200 degrees C for a period of 0.5 to 10 hours.
