Device for feeding steam or the like under pressure to a rotating drum 1, for example a debarking drum. Steam has hitherto generally been fed into a debarking drum from the end of the drum, the distance over which the steam acts having been short and too great a proportion of the steam having escaped. This and other problems occurring with the existing steam feed methods have been solved by the device according to the invention in that there is on the outer shell of the drum 1 a uniform, annular distributor ring 3, relatively narrow in the axial direction of the drum and rotating with the drum, which ring is divided up into compartments 8, on the outside of which, in each compartment, there is an elongated opening 4, and that around the distributor ring in the radial direction of the drum 1 there is a sprung, essentially stationary steam feed element 5, on that surface of which abutting the distributor shell 3 there is at least one opening 14, the width of which is smaller than the width of the openings 4 in the distributor shell. <IMAGE>
