<p>PURPOSE:To enable automation of an assembly work by a method wherein a roof is inserted from below into a car body upper module, and a flange formed in staged manner to the peripheral edge of the roof is locked in a super posed state to the under surface of the flange formed to the inner edge of a roof rail to couple the flanges together. CONSTITUTION:A side body 2, formed with a rear fender 3, various pillars 4, end side sill 5, and a roof rail 6, formed with a front roof rail 6A, a rear roof rail 6B, and a roof side rail 6C, are intercoupled to form a car body upper module 1. A roof 11 has a flange 12 molded in a staged manner at its peripheral edge part in a level lower than that of the general surface of the roof. After the roof 11 is raised and a weld bolt 10 situated to a flange 9 formed to the inner peripheral edge of a roof rail 6 is inserted in a bolt insertion hole 13 formed in the flange 12, by fastening a nut 14 against the bolt 10 in a way that the nut is threadedly joined with the bolt, mounting of the roof 11 to the car body upper module 1 is completed.</p> |
