PURPOSE:To increase reliability by using a mixture of a component soluble in an electrolyte and a component lyophilic to but insoluble in the electrolyte as an adhesive for bonding an electrode to a separator. CONSTITUTION:As a bonding layer 10 of an air electrode 5 to a separator 6, a porous film forming material is used. As a material lyophilic to and soluble in an electrolyte, for example, carboxymethycellulose, sodium polyacrylate, or a mixture of them is used. As a material lyophilic to but insoluble in the electrolyte, polyvinyl alcohol is used. When this adhesive comes in contact with the electrolyte, the material insoluble in the electrolyte is solidified to form a film, and the electrode and separator are firmly bonded. The material soluble in the electrolyte is dissolved in the electrolyte to make the film porous. The electrolyte penetrates in the pores formed in the film, and the electrode is sufficiently wetted with the electrolyte. |
