PURPOSE:To prevent the abnormal processing caused by a protecting action of the area data and to improve the data processing efficiency by setting the limit value included in an indicator for the corresponding allocation area at 0 when an area release request is received. CONSTITUTION:An area control part 14 carries out an area acquiring request and an area releasing request with operation of a pointer 12. Then the part 14 takes out a descriptor with request for release of an area, and a limit-0 setting means 141 sets the limit value (length of area) at 0. This set value is set at the storing position of an original indicator. If an area access input arrives at the relevant area from a program module, etc., under such conditions, an access detecting part 13 takes out the indicator 12 of the corresponding area and checks the limit value included in the indicator 12. If the limit value is equal to 0, an informing output is immediately produced. Thus an access is inhibited to the corresponding area when an access request is given to this area after the area is released. At the same time, the handling of a segment is possible.
