The invention relates to a method of control of appliances for processing a product, such as for cooking, heating, refrigeration or washing. The method is characterised in that the presence of the product to be processed is detected in its processing position on or in the appliance and automatically turns on the energy supply system of the appliance, for the purposes of the processing, when the product to be processed is present in or on the appliance, and cuts off the supply system upon removal of the product from the appliance.
