In order to prevent the vehicle from being damaged by the projecting actuating levers (5) when the tailboard (1) is folded round, the actuating lever (5) is arranged pivotably in the plane of the tailboard (1). The actuating lever (5) is connected via an articulated lever (7) to a lifting element (8). The latter is held elastically on a tie rod (11) by means of compression springs (12, 13). The tie rod (11) has a guide part (17) of rectangular cross-section. To retain the tie rod (11) and the actuating lever (5) in their end positions, there are provided on the guide part (17) two retaining bores (20, 21), into which a snap-in ball (19) engages. <IMAGE>
