The present invention relates to a plate for decorating bread or similar products including, on the one hand, a support consisting of an undercrust of bread dough and, on the other hand, a decoration produced on the said support and consisting of a pasty mixture, in suitable proportions, of cereal starch, corn starch, and corn flour. It also relates to a method for preparing such a decorating plate and to a method for decorating bread based on this said decorating plate.
