Directional control valve

A directional control valve, in particular for high-pressure hydraulics, in the housing of which a location bore (5), running transversely to the spool bore from an outer side of the housing right into the spool bore (2) and intersecting a supply bore (14), contains a pressure balance (DW) which has a regulating piston (27), adjustable as a function of pressure, for varying the passage size of the regulating orifice (R). The regulating piston (27) is acted upon in opposite directions on the one side by the load pressure and a regulating spring (39) and on the other side by the pressure downstream of the regulating orifice. In this directional control valve, the regulating piston (27) is adjusted in the direction away from the spool bore (2) to close the regulating orifice (R) and is loaded towards the spool bore by the regulating spring (39) arranged on its side remote from the spool bore. <IMAGE>
