PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic composition having a large piezoelectric coefficient and the second transition temperature below a curie temperature and useful for piezoelectric infrared light sensors by comprising a specific complex metal oxide containing Pd, Zr, Zn, Nb and Ti. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric ceramic composition comprises a complex metal oxide of the formula: PbZrx(Zn1/3Nb2/3)yTizO3 (especially preferably x+y+z=1, x=0.9). Since highly sensitively detecting IR rays, heat rays, laser, etc., the ceramic composition is especially suitable for invasion detectors acting to detect human bodies or for temperature sensors for fire detectors, laser power meters, pyrovisions, electronic ovens, etc., as a non-contacting temperature sensor. |
