Fillable pencil has a resiliently mounted lead clamping device, substantially consisting of a barrel, a barrel front part and a tip, a lead tube which is axially movable in the barrel, a lead clamping device connected to the lead tube and exhibiting, in particular, a clamping pincer and a clamping sleeve, and a compression spring located between the clamping pincer and the lead tube which is supported against pressure or pressure actuation, in the barrel front part towards the front and in the barrel towards the rear, active connections existing between the clamping pincer and the compression spring and between the lead tube and the compression spring. A tensioning spring is arranged between a front stop in the barrel and a rear shoulder of the lead tube, the tensioning spring being weaker than the compression spring.
